Community Oil Buying Scheme suspended for April 2026

Due to the current and ongoing instability in the Middle East, global oil prices have escalated and continue to be vulnerable to price fluctuations and capacity uncertainty.

We regret to inform members that there is no option at this time but to continue the suspension of the Community Oil Buying Scheme. We recognise the importance of the scheme and will resume activities as soon as we believe we can operate in a way that genuinely benefits our members.

In the meantime, you can find further information below about government support available to households affected by the unexpected rise in oil prices.

Each Local Authority has received funding to support residents experiencing financial hardship due to rising energy costs. The Crisis and Resilience Fund is typically means‑tested, and applications usually require an explanation of how current circumstances are impacting your household. You can find further details and apply via your local authority by following the relevant link:

We will keep the scheme under review, maintaining regular communications with our membership during that period, and hope to be in a position to place our next order once pricing settles down again.

We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience, the cause of which has been beyond our control.
