Village halls information & advice

Village Halls and Community Buildings are vital assets for communities, particularly in rural areas where fewer venues and services are present.

Across the area we work in of B&NES, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire there are more than 200 such buildings, offering a social hub in which people of all ages can meet for leisure and sporting activities. Often too, they enable vital services to be provided. They are at the heart of sustainable and inclusive communities.

West of England Rural Network can support Village Hall Trustees and Managers on a variety of issues, such as;

  • Governance and legal status

  • Funding advice

  • Accounting and insurance

Although our resources are quite limited, we can access the support of our national partner organisation, ACRE and fellow members of our network of Village Hall Advisors across the country.
