Community Oil Buying Scheme suspended for March 2026

Due to the current and developing conflict in Iran, global oil prices have escalated substantially and are extremely vulnerable to price fluctuations and capacity uncertainty

We have today (5 March 2026) carried out our usual search for the best price for oil for our members as a group purchase. Multiple suppliers find themselves unable to release quotes, online or in person, and those that will, will not be held to them. All suppliers, without exception, are unable to quote a discounted syndicate price and are quoting the same rate for a single delivery as for our order of +50 customers.

We are therefore reluctantly advising that we are suspending the Community Oil Buying Scheme for March 2026 as there is no benefit to be gained this month. Members are advised to place their own individual orders outside of the scheme with suppliers of their own selection. The key message being heard repeatedly is please resist the temptation to ‘panic-buy’.

We will keep the scheme under review, maintaining regular communications with our membership during that period, and hope to be in a position to place our next order in April.

All members who had logged an oil order with us this month will have their memberships extended by one month.

We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience, the cause of which has been beyond our control.
